This August I was invited out to Vermillion to photograph some of baby Chase’s first weeks in his family’s arms. It was a pleasant drive and a welcome breather after a busy summer with my growing newborn.
I absolutely love watching and capturing those little moments that are often overlooked and lost in the translation of time. Like little Chase’s stretches after a good snooze, or how big brother Dominic had such an obsession with trying on his mama’s shoes and walking around the house in them. But most of all, the hands – holding onto flower petals, cupping little heads, gripping little backs in a hug and holding little fingers with awe.
These are the details I don’t want my clients ever to forget so they can look back and get all fuzzy inside – yes, that’s why I do what I do! So enjoy looking through Corryn and Will’s snaps of life with their little charming boys!
This summer we made trips to the “choke berries” as Arial calls them, a nightly routine. We started last summer when she was only 1 and a half and Rollo was a puppy. And when we found the tree again this year at the back of our property…well it ended up being our little sunset walk after Acadia was in bed ❤ ❤
I’ll never forget these summer nights for the photos!
For first time parents, the Harper’s clearly demonstrated how much they adored their new baby girl ❤ They couldn’t keep their hands off her! And that’s what I love about capturing the first days of a newborns presence in their parents arms…the newness and the absolute awe that embraces their home.
Baby Ryleigh is almost 3 months now and an absolute ball or adorableness. I love watching her grow! Chelsea and Evan, you outta be one proud set of parents!
This spring the Neufeld/Thompson’s were excitedly awaiting the arrival of their second son! I was just as excited to photograph Corryn, Will & Dominic in the Callingwood Public Library here in Edmonton! We moved outdoors to mix it up for little Dominic and when we came back inside we found a sparrow pecking relentlessly at the window. We weren’t sure what was wrong with him but he was certainly a big hit!
Their second little girl ❤
Welcome to your family’s arms, Baby Bria. Don’t grow too fast, its overrated!

Not long now until this little one shows his/her face! And I cant wait to meet Chelsea & Evan’s fresh little bundle!
It was such a beautiful (wet) spring day for their maternity session at Lancaster Park. They are keeping the gender a surprise and not even finding out themselves! They have to possess all the patience in the world for this undertaking. Not long now!!!

A year ago we all piled into Anthony’s truck and day-tripped it to Banff, this year we cruised to the northern Rockies of Jasper National Park.
True to my Instagram posts, I feel like I can breathe again!! Everyone needs a getaway to the mountains if they can swing it, especially after a long winter on the same pad of dirt and double especially if they are about to give birth to a baby and life (freedom) as I know it will change!
We left with the sun rising in our rear view mirror and walked the town before driving up to Pyramid Lake Island and heading back down the mountain for the hike up to Maligne Canyon. I think Arial started the snowball fight by throwing a snowflake at Granny Sally, and then it escalated from there with Anthony, Priscilla & Jesse. I scored a couple easy targets myself because I had my camera out and pled the fifth haha. On the way, we joined the tourists on the side of the road and stopped to ooh and ahh over the herd of young elk. Some of “us” wanted to feed them grass and grab a selfie for the record **boys, boys**
Sad to say my hubby had to miss out on our getaway. Jesse ended up joining us in Jasper. Until next time, highway 16 west ❤

All those little details that mean she made it safely into their arms ❤
Congrats to Meagan & Marc & Brynn on their newest little member. These moments we captured in your home will never be forgotten because you will always be able to pull out your paper copies and look back on how little they once were…

Another precious girl is due to arrive in May for this little family ❤

Meet Kylara & Andrew.
They are in love.
Kylara contacted me through my Facebook page at the beginning of December about a shoot with her boyfriend. I love that it didn’t have to be because of an engagement or anniversary, but a “just because we love each other” session.
Little did we know, Andrew had planned to surprise her with a proposal during our session but the ring didn’t arrive on time. They just celebrated a 3-year dating relationship and he decided to pop the question surrounded by their family. I guess I missed out 😉
Congrats you two ❤

We celebrated in country girl style last weekend with some of our closest family and friends – a very special girls’ 2nd birthday! (We certainly missed those who couldn’t make it!)
I probably started planning half a year in advance…but it’s not every day I get to host one of my creative endeavors for family and friends to be a part of and experience with me. With another one on the way, that just means I will never not have something to keep me busy 😉
Arial’s first birthday party was very much vintage princess themed in pastel pinks and greys with handmade lace crowns and an assortment of homemade sugary treats including white-chocolate dipped pretzel sticks and fruit loop marshmallow balls. Grandma Ancel made her cherry chip and peppermint flavored icing smash cake along with matching cupcakes. This year it was all about her country roots with the Norwegian Fjord team of horses over for a wagon ride, burlap and pinecone décor, homemade caramel popcorn, hot chocolate and 3 flavors of locally baked birthday doughnuts including bacon caramel, chocolate pecan and sprinkled!
When we woke up on Saturday morning, it was almost like Christmas! The whole house was decorated and ready for our birthday girl ❤ We got up bright and early with Arial and videoed her discovery – let’s just say her #2 balloon was a giant hit! I spent all week assembling and customizing Arial’s IKEA kitchen – using leftover paint from her nursery walls for the back panel to the shelving and Shawn helped select a board from Home Depot for the backsplash which we covered with drawer liner from Arial’s dresser. Pinterest is a great inspiration outlet! The “happy birthday Arial” banner was hand-painted along with the diy picture hanger crafted from a fallen branch from our backyard and some good ole bailer twine! Granny Sally was the main décor hanger from the night before and my right hand man for the fresh caramel popcorn that morning.
And can I point out Arial’s double braids for one moment? HER HAIR IS NOW LONG ENOUGH!! Needless to say, I saved her first double braids for her birthday party ❤ Her outfit is inspired by her country roots, including her locally made plaid infinity scarf and ROOT’s wool socks!
We are so grateful for all the love shown by our family and friends who showed up to celebrate with us – and those who were with us in spirit – plus all the gifts showered upon our little lady! And thanks for indulging my request for birthday books instead of cards – something that suited her toddler age and will be opened and looked at for years to come. It was also plus 18 outdoors on this fine November Saturday – as shown by our jacket-less wagon ride!
Here’s to another year enjoying and loving on our adventurous, free-spirited gorgeous 2 year old miss Arial Autumn!
